  Didier Jeunesse, a distinctive style

A highly discerning artistic focus
One of our core concerns is fostering new approaches and techniques (drawing, collage, painting, volume, engraving, etc.) and encouraging a number of young illustrators including Elodie Nouhen, Cécile Hudrisier, Elea Pok...
Many young author-illustrators published their first books through Didier Jeunesse : Eric Battut, Charlotte Mollet, Andrée Prigent, Roberto Prual-Réavis, Malika Doray, Edmée Cannard, etc.

A number of "must-have" albums, for young readers complete our range of books. Humor, fantasy and poetry are in generous supply in a large number of special editions.

Our Albums for the very young, span several collections : Pirouette, spotlighting nursery rhymes, Somersault, with a note of poetic fantasy. And more sturdy books with robust round, round holes from our Rikiki and Little fingers collections to tell and play finger stories and games.
Albums that tap into imaginative tales : Tiny toes, for the youngest children, and Great tales for their older counterparts.

Our musical production includes picture books with their own audio CDs or cassettes, featuring a set of songs and rhymes from the children's repertoire :
- Nursery rhymes from our tradition
- Nursery rhymes from all over the world
- Tales and operas

We also gravitate to author-illustrators who stand out for their fresh approach, creativity and technical excellence (relevance). Their work has spawned innovative combinations of text and images.
Our interest in oral tradition prompts us to seek out rhythm, a musical feel for words and a certain "depth" of meaning that endures from one generation to the next. Our picture books are an invitation for young and old alike to discover or rediscover the classics !
